Recently, the world has been introduced to the wonders of cannabidiol, also known as CBD. Offered in many different form factors, ranging from tinctures, chewable gummies, drinks and lotions, CBD can be found in stores across America. CBD is advertised as a holistic alternative to medications that can help regulate your body and has been shown to be a safe and effective remedy for many conditions including chronic pain, inflammation, sleep disorders and mental burnout.
Many people have experienced the benefits that CBD can offer first hand, yet there are still many that don't really know what CBD is. We decided to take the time to answer some of the most frequently asked questions about this beneficial compound.
1. What is CBD and how does it work?
CBD, short for cannabidiol, is the primary cannabinoid found in Revibe Wellness products. It is one of over 100 naturally-occurring cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant and is among the most thoroughly researched alongside THC. Cannabinoids are chemical compounds that occur naturally in the human body and actively interact with cannabinoid receptors located throughout the human body. When CBD binds to these receptors, it triggers various physiological actions that help to regulate your appetite, pain sensation, mood, and memory.
2. How is CBD different from marijuana?
While CBD is a naturally-occurring component of marijuana, it does not cause a "high" like some may think. The CBD we offer is derived directly from the hemp plant, which is a cousin of the marijuana plant. Industrial hemp is defined by US law as cannabis having 0.3% or less delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) content by dry weight.
3. What is the difference between broad- and full-spectrum CBD?
If an extract is full-spectrum, this means it contains all phytochemicals naturally found in the plant, including CBD, trace cannabinoids such as THC, terpenes and other essential oils. Full-spectrum extracts from hemp are legally allowed to contain a THC content of 0.3% or less. In some cases, this value may actually be greater than 0.3%
Although non-psychoactive, full-spectrum CBD can give you a false positive during a drug test, especially if you consume high doses daily. This is where the broad-spectrum option of CBD comes in.
Like full-spectrum CBD, broad-spectrum CBD contains cannabidiol and all the other compounds within the plant. However, it goes through an additional process to remove the trace amounts of THC. For these reasons, Revibe CBD Cream is manufactured using only broad-spectrum hemp.
4. Is CBD legal?
The 2018 Farm Bill legalized the production and sale of hemp and its extracts. Hemp, by federal law, cannot contain more than 0.3 percent THC (tetrahydrocannabinol). Anything with more THC is classified as marijuana, is considered a schedule 1 drug by the Drug Enforcement Administration and is federally illegal.
5. Who is Revibe Wellness?
Revibe Wellness is a trusted company in the CBD industry, comprised of published medical researchers with broad experience in the healthcare industry. Our broad-spectrum, hemp-derived CBD cream, is clinically tested and is one of the most potent formulas available in the market. 6. How is Revibe CBD Cream manufactured?
Revibe CBD Cream is cultivated and manufactured in the United States and is formulated to promote maximum absorption of CBD. Revibe’s manufacturing facility follows the FDA's Good Manufacturing Practices and the USDA's guidelines from seed to sale. The plants used to make Revibe CBD Cream are the highest purity, organic, naturally grown, non-GMO hemp.
7. Is CBD safe?
CBD is very safe. There have been dozens of large-scale clinical trials exploring CBD’s effects for specific health conditions. All have reported a low incidence of side effects associated with the supplement. Many of these studies have even used CBD in exceptionally high doses — much higher than the average CBD user would ever come close to taking. Some studies involve doses up to 600 mg of CBD.
To put this into perspective, 10% of this dose (60 mg of CBD) is considered a high dose.
8. What dosage should I take?
Everyone is unique and the fact remains that everyone is in a different place and will react differently to their CBD dosage. As dosage of CBD differs for each person, it is best to start small and gradually increase to a comfortable level until you experience the desired result.
9. Will I fail a drug test if I use Revibe CBD Cream?
The short answer is no. However, different labs tend to have different testing protocols. It is always prudent to download our Certificate of Analysis (COA) from our website, then share it with the lab that administers your drug test to get an answer you can trust. Our products contain 0.0% THC which is typically the only cannabinoid tested for on a drug test panel.
It is important to note that CBD products are completely forbidden for use by any government service members at this point in time.
10. Who shouldn't take CBD products?
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding: There is not enough reliable information about the safety of taking products containing cannabidiol if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Pregnant or breastfeeding individuals should avoid taking CBD.
- Parkinson’s disease: Cannabidiol may make muscle movement and tremors worse in people with Parkinson’s disease. Therefore, CBD products should be avoided in patients with Parkinson’s.
- History of hypersensitivity to cannabidiols or any of the ingredients in the product
